What kinds of books are you looking for?

  • We represent both fiction and non-fiction.  In fiction we look for thrillers, suspense, romantic suspense, and women's contemporary fiction that reflects the lives, challenges, love and family issues faced by today's women--from twenty-something's to retirees.  We are especially interested in Latina and African American fiction and chick-lit.  In non-fiction we are looking for self-help, business, and popular reference; books that help people's lives.

What is the best way to get your attention?

  • The best way is with a well-written and compelling one-page query letter and SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope).  Do not send a query by fax or email.

Can I speak to an agent?

  • Send a query letter.  If we are interested, we will contact you, simple as that.

I wrote a manuscript/book, can I send it to you?

  • Send a query letter first, if we're interested we will request the full text.

What can I do to increase the odds that you will take me on as a client?

  • We want to represent strong writers with fresh ideas.  People who are professional, well-mannered, and polite always have a better chance of getting my attention.  Do your homework to assure that I represent your type of book (see "10 Ways to Find the Right Agent").  Following up is one thing, but please, no one likes a nagger.

It's always nice to find out how you found out about our agency.  If you're found my website or my listing in various publishing guides, met me at a writer's conference, or have been referred by a "colleague or friend," please feel free to include that in the beginning of your letter.

To ensure the fastest response time to your query, please send your query letter to the correct address.

  • Query letters for Denise Marcil should be sent to 156 Fifth Avenue, Suite 625, New York, NY 10010.
  • Query letters for Anne Marie O'Farrell should be sent to 86 Dennis Street, Manhasset, NY 11030.
  • We do not respond to unsolicited email queries.
