The Denise Marcil Literary Agency, Inc. provides service in three areas:

• Editorial Guidance and Review
• Literary Representation
• Publicity and Marketing Advice

Editorial Guidance and Review

We guide you through the creation of your proposal and/or sample material for presentation to publishing houses.  We are also present throughout the writing process in many cases, giving you our editorial advice.

Literary Representation

We market your work to publishers, identifying the best editor and publishing house for your book.  We negotiate your contracts with the publishers and other licensers, including foreign and audio publishers and film companies.

Publicity and Marketing Advice

We work with you and your publisher to define a strategic marketing and promotion plan to further the success of your work.

Terms

Commission Rates:

• 15% for domestic contracts (US and Canada)
• 15% for dramatic contracts (including motion picture and television)
• 20% for foreign contracts (UK and translation)

Our Author/Agent Agreements run for a two year term and are thereafter eligible for renewals, to be determined by the agency.

The Agency clause in the author's publishing contract is negotiated by Denise Marcil Literary Agency, Inc.

We do not charge a reading fee.
